We are looking for committed writers, distinctive voices and manuscripts with the strength to become complete publishing projects.
We are not looking for a manuscript merely to print.
Iron Gate Publishing considers each submission as a potential book—not simply a file waiting to be converted into pages. We look at the writing, the story, the likely readership, the author’s intent and the project’s ability to earn a place within our publishing list.
A strong idea matters, but execution matters more. We value manuscripts with narrative confidence, emotional force, commercial readability and a voice that does not disappear the moment the book is closed.
We do not accept every manuscript, and we do not believe every manuscript benefits from being rushed into publication. Selection is based on editorial judgement, catalogue fit and the practical demands of developing the book properly.

A Strong Narrative Voice
The writing should possess confidence, personality and an identity that cannot be replaced by generic prose.
Commercial Readability
Literary ambition and reader engagement are not enemies. The work should understand how to hold attention.
Emotional or Narrative Force
The story should create tension, curiosity, feeling or urgency rather than merely present an interesting premise.
Professional Commitment
We value authors who can communicate clearly, meet agreed responsibilities and approach editing without hostility.
How the Process Works
From submission to a finished book.
Every project is different, but our general publishing process follows these stages.
Initial Submission
You send the requested material through our submission page. Please follow the instructions and avoid sending additional files unless requested.
Editorial Evaluation
We consider the concept, writing, structure, readership, catalogue fit and the work required to develop the project.
Further Material or Discussion
When a project interests us, we may request the full manuscript, additional chapters, revisions or a discussion with the author.
Publishing Proposal
Where appropriate, we discuss the intended publishing model, editorial requirements, formats, responsibilities and commercial terms.
Written Agreement
No publishing commitment exists until the relevant parties enter into a signed written agreement.
Editing, Production & Release
The manuscript moves through editorial development, design, production, pricing, distribution preparation and release scheduling.

Sending material to Iron Gate Publishing does not constitute acceptance, create a publishing relationship or guarantee publication.
Selection, editing, format, pricing, production, marketing and scheduling decisions remain subject to editorial judgement, commercial practicality and any signed publishing agreement.
Requested, proposed or provisional publication dates are not guaranteed and may change because of editorial, production, printing, distribution, technical, legal or commercial needs.
Copyright remains with the author unless rights are granted under a signed agreement. Authors must control the rights to all material they submit.
