Submission Policy

Submission Guidelines & Terms.

Please read these guidelines before sending any manuscript, synopsis, sample chapters, artwork or related material to Iron Gate Publishing.

Last updated: 29 July 2026

Important

Submission allows us to evaluate your work. It does not mean that we have accepted it for publication.

By sending material to Iron Gate Publishing, you confirm that you have read and accepted the submission terms on this page. No publishing commitment, commercial relationship, agency relationship or transfer of rights exists unless both parties enter into a separate written agreement.

At a Glance

The essential points before you submit.

01

Your Rights Remain Yours

Submission does not transfer copyright, publishing rights or ownership of your manuscript to Iron Gate Publishing.

02

No Promise to Publish

Receiving, opening, reading or discussing a submission does not constitute acceptance or create an obligation to publish it.

03

Submit Authorised Work

You must own or control the necessary rights to every element you submit, including text, images and quotations.

04

No Result Is Guaranteed

We do not guarantee sales, reviews, awards, media attention, distribution reach or bestseller status.

05

Dates May Change

Any proposed editorial, production or publication date remains provisional unless governed by a signed agreement.

06

Keep Your Own Copy

Always retain complete backups. Do not send your only copy of a manuscript, document, photograph or artwork.

01

Eligibility

Who may submit material.

You may submit material only when you are at least eighteen years old and legally capable of accepting these terms.

When submitting on behalf of another person, company, estate, agency or rights-holder, you confirm that you have authority to act for that party and to provide the submitted material for evaluation.

We may request evidence of identity, authorship, ownership or authority before entering into any publishing discussion. Do not send identity documents unless specifically requested through an authorised Iron Gate Publishing communication.

02

Submission Materials

What to send—and how to send it.

Unless we request otherwise, an initial submission should contain a concise book introduction, synopsis, sample chapters and brief author biography.

  • Send one book project per email.
  • Use the subject line: Manuscript Submission — Book Title — Author Name.
  • Attach files in DOC, DOCX or PDF format.
  • Label each file clearly with the book title and author name.
  • Do not send complete manuscripts unless requested.
  • Do not send cloud-storage links that require access permission unless requested.
  • Do not send original physical documents or irreplaceable material.

Simultaneous submissions are permitted unless we specifically request an exclusive review period. Please inform us promptly when the manuscript is accepted elsewhere or becomes unavailable.

Previously published, self-published, adapted or translated work must be identified clearly, together with any existing rights, licences or contractual restrictions.

03

Ownership and Authority

Your work remains yours during evaluation.

Submission does not assign or transfer copyright, publishing rights, adaptation rights, translation rights, film rights, audio rights or any other proprietary right to Iron Gate Publishing.

By submitting material, you give Iron Gate Publishing a limited, non-exclusive and royalty-free permission to receive, store, copy internally, open, read and evaluate the material for the purpose of considering it for publication.

This limited permission does not allow us to publish, sell, license or commercially exploit the manuscript. Any publishing rights must be granted separately under a signed written agreement.

You confirm that:

  • You created the work or possess sufficient authority to submit it.
  • The submission does not knowingly infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other third-party rights.
  • The submission does not contain unlawfully defamatory, fabricated or privacy-invading material.
  • Permissions have been obtained for substantial quotations, photographs, illustrations, lyrics or other protected content.
  • You have disclosed any existing publishing agreement, option, licence, lien, dispute or restriction affecting the work.

Material substantially produced, translated, illustrated or altered using generative artificial-intelligence systems must be disclosed clearly. Disclosure does not guarantee rejection, but failure to disclose material use may affect evaluation or any later publishing relationship.

04

Evaluation

How submissions are considered.

We may evaluate the concept, writing quality, structure, originality of expression, commercial readability, likely readership, production requirements and suitability for the Iron Gate Publishing catalogue.

We may read only part of a submission before deciding whether to continue. We are not required to provide an editorial report, explanation, rejection reason or detailed feedback.

When a project interests us, we may request additional chapters, the complete manuscript, revisions, information about the author or completion of a detailed questionnaire.

A request for additional material, a telephone call, a meeting, an editorial comment or continued correspondence does not by itself amount to acceptance or a promise of publication.

We reserve the right to decline, stop reviewing or close a submission at any stage before a written publishing agreement is signed.

05

Similar Material

Ideas, themes and story elements may overlap.

Publishers receive many manuscripts, and unrelated works may contain similar ideas, genres, themes, characters, titles, settings, situations, structures or plot elements.

Submission does not create exclusivity or prevent Iron Gate Publishing, its authors or its collaborators from developing, receiving, evaluating or publishing independently created material that contains similar unprotected ideas or elements.

We will not knowingly reproduce or commercially exploit your protected manuscript without permission. However, you should not submit trade secrets, confidential business information or material whose value depends upon a confidential relationship.

Submission does not create a fiduciary, agency, employment, partnership or confidential relationship between the submitter and Iron Gate Publishing.

06

Communication

Response times and correspondence.

Response times vary according to submission volume, editorial workload, staff availability and the complexity of the project. No response period is guaranteed unless confirmed separately in writing.

We may be unable to acknowledge every email or respond individually to submissions that do not suit our list.

Please do not repeatedly resend the same manuscript or send frequent follow-up messages. Excessive, abusive, deceptive or threatening communication may result in the submission being closed without further consideration.

Official submission communication will ordinarily come from an email address using the irongatepublishing.com domain.

07

Publishing Discussions

No commitment exists without a written agreement.

When we wish to pursue a project, the parties may discuss editing, production, publishing formats, rights, responsibilities, royalties, fees, pricing, distribution, marketing and other commercial terms.

Such discussions remain preliminary unless and until the relevant parties sign a written agreement.

No employee, freelancer, consultant, editor or representative may guarantee publication or alter contractual terms unless authorised to do so in writing by Iron Gate Publishing.

Any payment, royalty, service, expense, rights grant or commercial obligation must be stated in the applicable written agreement. Submission alone creates no financial entitlement or payment obligation for either party.

08

Scheduling and Results

Publication dates and commercial outcomes are not guaranteed.

Any proposed release date, schedule, production period or marketing plan remains provisional unless governed by a signed agreement.

Dates may change because of editing, author revisions, cover design, formatting, printing, distribution, legal review, technical problems, third-party delays, market conditions, force majeure or other practical requirements.

An author cannot require publication on a personally selected date unless that obligation has been expressly accepted in a signed written agreement.

Iron Gate Publishing does not guarantee sales volume, ranking, profitability, reviews, awards, bookstore placement, media coverage, adaptation opportunities, audience response or bestseller status.

09

Personal Information

How submission information may be used.

Submission emails may contain your name, email address, telephone number, biography, professional history and other information you choose to provide.

We may use that information to:

  • Receive and evaluate the submission.
  • Communicate with you about the project.
  • Request further material or clarification.
  • Maintain internal editorial and correspondence records.
  • Protect the website, email systems and business from misuse.
  • Meet legal, regulatory or contractual obligations.

Do not send Aadhaar details, banking information, passwords, medical information or other sensitive personal records unless they are genuinely required and specifically requested through an authorised channel.

Further information about personal-data handling should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

10

Storage and Security

Email submissions are not stored through a website form.

The current submission system directs authors to send material by email. Manuscripts are therefore received through our email service rather than uploaded into a public WordPress submission database.

Emails and attachments may be stored for a reasonable period for evaluation, communication, security, dispute prevention and record-keeping. Copies may remain temporarily in backups or security systems after ordinary deletion.

We take reasonable care with submitted material, but internet and email transmission cannot be guaranteed to be completely secure, uninterrupted or error-free.

Iron Gate Publishing is not responsible for the loss of the submitter’s only copy, corrupted files, delivery failures, unauthorised interception outside our reasonable control or damage caused by malicious attachments.

We may scan, block, quarantine or delete files that appear unsafe, corrupted, misleading or technically harmful.

11

Withdrawal

You may withdraw a submission before signing an agreement.

To withdraw a manuscript from consideration, email submissions@irongatepublishing.com using the subject line:

Withdrawal Request — Book Title — Author Name

We will make reasonable efforts to stop active evaluation. Withdrawal does not require immediate removal from archival correspondence, security records, legal records or routine backups.

Once a publishing agreement has been signed, withdrawal, termination and rights reversion will be governed by that agreement rather than this submission policy.

12

General Terms

Changes, interpretation and applicable law.

We may update these Submission Guidelines & Terms to reflect changes in our editorial process, technology, business requirements or applicable law.

The version displayed on this page when the material is submitted will ordinarily apply to that submission, unless a later written agreement states otherwise.

If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to operate to the extent permitted by law.

Failure to enforce a provision immediately does not amount to a permanent waiver of that provision.

These submission terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, disputes relating solely to these submission terms will fall within the jurisdiction of the competent courts serving Iron Gate Publishing’s principal place of business.

These terms should be read together with our Website Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

Your Confirmation

By sending a submission, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these guidelines.

You also confirm that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you possess the necessary authority to submit the material.
