At 1:47 a.m., twenty-four-year-old Kiara Desai walks out of a Lower Parel nightclub in Mumbai and climbs into a black Fortuner after receiving a message that appears to come from her sister.

She never reaches home.

ACP Sanyukta Singh is pulled into the case before the city has properly woken. Kiara is wealthy, famous, politically connected and followed by millions. Her father wants answers. The press wants a scandal. Her family wants control of the story. Sanyukta wants evidence.

Then Kiara's body is found bound in the luggage compartment of the Fortuner, stripped of the clothes she wore that night, and a missing-person investigation becomes murder.

A smashed phone, contradictory statements, CCTV footage, private recordings, missing copies and a trail of digital evidence begin to expose a family in which reputation has always carried a price. Every new answer opens another question, and every person around Kiara seems to know slightly more than they first admitted.

At the centre of it is Sanyukta: a Mumbai police officer trying to separate fact from performance while political pressure closes around the investigation and the complications of her own life refuse to remain outside the case.
