The Rule Between Us

There are rules for this.

Samira Ahuja is directing the biggest documentary of her career. Vihaan Oberoi is the footballer at the centre of it: famous, difficult, recovering from the injury that nearly ended everything, and far more interesting when he stops giving her the answers his media team prepared.

The camera is supposed to get close.

Samira is not.

But weeks of interviews, training grounds, away matches and arguments make professional distance increasingly difficult to maintain. Vihaan notices the woman behind the questions. Samira discovers that the man beneath the headlines is funnier, angrier and considerably more vulnerable than the public version of him.

Eventually, attraction stops being something either of them can pretend not to understand.

Simple.

Except Vihaan is fighting for a career his own body may no longer permit him to have, while Samira is fighting to become a director whose work cannot be explained by her famous father's name. Their relationship has consequences for both careers, and every camera, contract and headline makes the boundary between what belongs to the public and what belongs only to them harder to defend.

Then feelings begin breaking the one rule neither of them thought to write down.
